My wife and I dined at the Depot on Wedensday, 17 July 2008 after being told it was one of the best places in town to get a good steak. The dining experience started off on the wrong foot when I requested a good micro brew porter style and the waitress brought me a light colored one. I ordered a 14 oz. NY strip steak with garlic potatoes. My wife ordered a fried veggie platter with a caesar's salad. My steak was ordered to be cooked medium and it was served rare. The garlic potatoes were over powered with garlic and were just barley edible. The fried veggie platter was the best course but were just under cooked. The salad was dripping with vinegar and oil and was the farthest thing from a caesar's salad and was not consumed and when the server picked up our plates we were not asked if the food or the salad was satisfactory. My wife and I were very disappointed with the meal and we felt that the servers were turning a blind eye to the poor quality of the food. We for sure will not return to this establishment for the prospect of a repeat performance. As for myself , I have extensive experience in the food service industry starting out as a cook in the U.S. Navy and then working in several different hotels for Hilton and other privately owned business's and restaurants.
